Huang Zhiyang, a
native of Meiling, Nanan, he was born in 1968, is a member of Chinese Artists
Association, Chinese image oil painting research seminar member, a professional

Once confused and wandering, in the north, to search
and study the creation style in the north
From the grade
three of primary school, Huang Zhiyang was living in his hometown in Nanan, he
looked forward to going home to copy all kinds of comic strips, "Story of
journey to the west", "heroes in the Sui and Tang Dynasties" and
"Romance of the Three Kingdoms". "These comic strips mainly by
line drawing, with beautiful lines, every day when he get home, he began to
copy, gradually fell in love with painting".
However, on the
road of painting, Huang Zhiyang has ever been depressed and confused. He even
copied the oil painting, founded the art school and served as the art director
of the enterprise.
In 2005, when
Huang Zhiyang graduated from Tianjin Academy of fine arts, he began to think
more about painting. "In the 90s of last century, I drew a lot of
commodity paintings, but I didn't form my own style, and couldn't find the
direction of creation."
When he came back
from Tianjin, his ideas changed and wanted to be a professional painter and got
the support of his family. In 2006, Huang Zhiyang went to Beijing, under the
advice of Wang Keju, a tutor of the Renmin University of China, he took the
first session master's graduate class of oil painting in the College of the
National People's Congress.
"During the
period of graduate school, in addition to eating and sleeping, it was
painting." Huang Zhiyang followed the tutor Wang Keju and Yan Ping to
travel around and sketching.
When he graduated
in 2008, Huang Zhiyang returned to Fujian, "my root is in the south of
Fujian, I love here." After returning home, Huang Zhiyang thinks that
everything is lovely, everywhere is a scene can be painted.
"To give up,
then to have, a painter to find his own style must learn to give up."
Huang Zhiyang said that after graduation, his creation was once confused and
unable to find directions. He realized that he had encountered bottlenecks.
"Too much information was acquired at school, he wanted to try everything,
he wanted to express everything, instead of having his own style".
After pondering,
he chose the post impressionist style of oil painting. Slowly, he was not
satisfied with this, integrating the oriental freehand elements into the
painting, formed his own creative style.
The Bauhinia

For several years,
Huang Zhiyang has traveled all over the country, and almost no day has stopped
writing, he has thousands of works.
Bright green,
gorgeous and blooming bauhinia flowers, well-proportioned and colorful red
brick house and villa...... Red and green colors constitute main tone, a piece
of "Bauhinia blossom -- Gulangyu Islet" stands vividly revealed on
the paper.
"This oil
painting is 1.6 meters long and 1.8 meters wide, which is my representative
work of combining Impressionist and Chinese freehand style." Huang Zhiyang
said, in the summer of 2010, it was the most brilliant time of Bauhinia
blossom, he came to Gulangyu Islet, and he walked across every lane with his
sketchpad to experience Gulangyu Islet scenery.
"I was not
satisfied with the painting for 3 months. I felt that I didn't draw the taste
of Gulangyu Islet." Huang Zhiyang said, one day, while walking on the
street, he saw the beautiful Bauhinia flower, he have an idea in mind:
"why don’t you paint with the Bauhinia Flower, into the Gulangyu Islet
elements?"
Fleeting thought,
Huang Zhiyang has a good color tone, with green leaves full of vigour, with
bright red paint on the island of the red brick houses, and close to the pink
purple red painted flower, after creation, he painted the most beautiful
scenery of Gulangyu Islet with oil painting.
This transition
work of Huang Zhiyang gained recognition, "Bauhinia Blossom - Gulangyu
Islet" was selected into "Dingxin South China -- my people my land of
oil painting invitational exhibition" (Guangdong Art Museum), which
sponsored by Chinese Artists Association, won the first prize of the seventh
Quanzhou Erythrina literature and art award" and "Nanan Wu Rong
literature and art award".
